DIY Italian Villa

DIY Italian Villa

We’ve been involved with a variety of Colorado weddings for over two years now. My favorite events are still the backyard weddings. There’s nothing like seeing the breathtaking “before” and “after” images. This is a really a time you can truly see the couple’s vision for their event (and a little of their relationship too). This most recent rig was particularly intriguing, the bride was able to transform a typical “Colorado” home into an Italian villa. Wow. We had heard the plans, done the site visit – but it wasn’t until we had seen all of minute details that we were truly blown away.

The bride had taken the time to cover each and every window with adorable blue shutters. The walls were then covered with greenery. Of course, being in Colorado everything had to be blocked off from the regular visits of the deer. No munchies! She even brought an antique-looking fountain.

Since we are part of the tent crew, it is rare that we get to see the finished product. For this installation we used one of our stunning chino stretch tents. It was a tight space so we created a system of rigging the canopy closely to the deck. We dropped the back side to prevent against any wind. We inserted 8′ poles to minimize the loss of headroom. All of our corners were dropped to increase the sturdiness and aesthetic appeal of the structure.

All in all – the combination was absolutely stunning. We will post the fully decorated photos once available!
