Persian Wedding in the Rocky Mountains

A stunning outdoor Colorado wedding at Maurin Ranch in Aspen, staged by BlueBird Productions. Tentrix provided custom stretch canopies for the catering team and for the reception.

The Challenge

This Aspen wedding stretch tent was featured in Brides Magazine, to which we’d refer you for the full event narrative. Thanks to Catherine Mead Photograpy for many of the photos. Also, a big shoutout to BlueBird Productions for coordinating the entire event.

We worked in advance with BlueBird to generate renderings of the wedding stretch tent for their client’s approval.  It’s always hard to capture reality in a rendering, but compare the photos and judge for yourself.

Because the wedding was in Aspen, the event designer requested fresh-cut Aspen poles for the pitch. We work with a ranch owner in Woodland Park who welcomes our assistance with fire mitigation.  We found 24 sturdy Aspen for the task.

We cut the trees to length, tapered to fit our caps, mounted rigging and lighting. The wedding coordinator carpeted the wedding tent floor and added a the dance floor in front of the tent. The wedding ceremony was held in the adjacent meadow with a stunning mountain backdrop.

Colorado mountain weather can be unpredictable. At least for this night, a storm threatened but never ‘pitched’.

Our wooden pole preference is Lodgepole Pine for its strength and structural integrity. We took a risk with Aspen this time around because the weather was unseasonably calm. We don’t typically recommend Aspen poles because we have to upsize due to structural inconsistencies.
